So, J.K. Rowling has said that at least two major characters will die in book seven.
Here's some likely candidates I have come up with - who do you think will die?
(sorry if i left any good candidates out.
Oh - Yes, percy is a bad guy. he deserves to die.
Snape - questionable on the good vs. bad. I had a hard time deciding where to put him. We will find out. But he's in the bad guy column for now, as that is how he is seen in the potterverse right now.
put additional votes in comments if they are not specified here.
notes:
apologies for the placement of snape - yes, hard choice
yes, i did not put dumbledore in the list - I acknowledge the possibility that he may not be dead or may come back.

1) Petigrew - Wormtail has a life debt to harry. Dumbledore mentions that this will be important - and when dumbledore says something like this is important, it is. JKR also said that this will come into play in book 7. Honestly, i think that wormy will thwart or reval voldemort's plans in the end, both to pay off his debt and because he is selfish and will go to whoever he thinks will have power. he has no real true allegence to V, he is in it for himself. V will kill him with a thought. He's not popular though, and i doubt that he was one of the characters she is talking about.
2) Hagrid - One thing we learn from the series is that "love is the most powerful thing ever". Another thing we learn is that sacrafice is important. Who else in the series would sacrafice themselves to save another, dumbledore would - and so would hagrid. I think he's going to take a killing blow for someone else. I think that he was one of the characters she was talking about.
3) Voldemort - i think we all expect him to die. He pretty much has to, so JKR was not talking about him when she mentioned at least two others. Again, not one of the characters she was talking about.
Who else will die? I don't think that harry will. McGonagall - probably not, she'll be the new headmaster.
Neville, Luna, and the Weasley twins are good candidates to die because they are popular in fan circles, and their deaths are not showstoppers to the book. They have an emotional impact on the fans, but they don't stop the story flat because they are not critical.
I think you have very good points for Draco's parents, and very good points for Draco himself - I think that another possibility is that his mother is likely to fall on voldemort's sword to save draco. So she gets double points in the death pool.
Snape - slippery snape. I do not think that he will die (unless he is already dead, but i've speculated about that before)
I sort of feel like one of the trio should die, and ron seems most likely. But i'm not sure that he would sacrafice himself for harry again. It would get overdone. JKR has said that one of the students will come back to hogwarts to be a professor - and Hermione is the #1 choice there (unless it is harry himself in the DADA position, or something twisted like a reformed Draco - as head of slytherin even - hmmm)
Anyhow, more thoughts later.
